Hello everybody!

I was diagnosed with relapsing/ remitting MS just over 2 years ago.  I take 2 Provigil/ Modafinil pills daily for my fatigue.

I deal with the usual MS fatigue and find the Provigil does help because on the days when I don't (or forget to) take the pills I'm really tired and have a very hard time focusing, concentrating, and thinking.  But recently I've been having to drink coffee for a little caffeine "boost" at work in the afternoons.

I've been playing with when I take my Provigil pills.  Some days I take 1 pill first thing in the morning then my other pill around lunchtime; some days I take both pills together at the same time in the morning.

Does anybody else here take Modafinil for your fatigue?  When do you feel it is more effective to take them?

Thanks for any advice!

modafinil (Provigil) : is a wakefulness-promoting agent.  I found two papers discussing the outcome of their clinical trials..with somewhat conflicting results.
1) Study by Ohio State University
They found 200 mg/day modafinil significantly improved fatigue and was well tolerated by MS patients.
2) Study by Hopital de la Salpetriere (France)
Starting with 200 mg/day of modafinil:  found NO improvement of fatigue in MS pateints judged by the Modified Fatigue Impact Scale.
If you want to try this drug, you should speak to your doctor.  Maybe it will work well for you.
